King Hu

King Hu was born on Apr 29, 1932 in China. King Hu's big-screen debut came with Shou qiang directed by Li Kao in 1961, strarring . King Hu is known for Legend of the Mountain directed by King Hu, Chun Shih stars as Ho Qingyun and Feng Hsu as Melody. King Hu has got 7 awards and 3 nominations so far. The most recent award King Hu achieved is Golden Horse Film Festival. The upcoming new movie King Hu plays is Painted Skin which will be released on Aug 18, 1993.

He was educated in art school in Beijing, left China for Hong Kong in 1949 and entered the film industry in 1951 in the art department. In the 1950s he began acting and in 1958 joined Shaw Brothers as an actor and writer, and later a director. In 1967 he left to start his own studio in Taiwan, returned to Hong Kong in 1970s, working in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China before his death.
