Kim Ki-duk was born on Dec 20, 1960 in South Korea. Kim Ki-duk's big-screen debut came with Crocodile directed by Kim Ki-duk in 1996. Kim Ki-duk is known for The Net directed by Kim Ki-duk, Seung-beom Ryu stars as Nam Chul-woo and Lee Won-geun as Oh Jin-woo. Kim Ki-duk has got 66 awards and 53 nominations so far. He studied fine arts in Paris in 1990-1992. In 1993 he won the award for Best Screenplay from the Educational Institute of Screenwriting with "A Painter and A Criminal Condemned to Death". After two more screenplay awards, he made his directorial debut with Crocodile (1996) ("Crocodile"). Then he went on to direct Wild Animals (1997) ("Wild Animals"), Paran daemun (1998) ("Birdcage Inn"), L'île (2000) ("The Isle") and the highly experimental Real Fiction (2000) ("Real Fiction"), shot in just 200 minutes. In 1999, Adresse inconnue (2001) ("Address Unknown") was selected by the Pusan Film Festival's Pusan Promotion Plan (PPP) for development.
