Karl T. Hirsch is an editor, director, producer, and screenwriter from Phoenix, Arizona.His award-winning debut feature, Green (1997), starring Dana Millican and Hyrum Patterson, was shown at over 30 international film festivals, including The Victoria Film Festival in British Columbia, Canada, and The Austin Film Festival in Texas. It was distributed in North America and Austraila by Tribe/First Rites, in conjunction with Hollywood Video (USA) and Rogers Video (Canada). It was later released on DVD by Maverick Home Entertainment. He directed David Faustino, Corin Nemec and Robert Stack in the comedy Killer Bud (2001), released by Trimark/Lionsgate. Karl also directed and edited the award-winning mockumentary Media Whore (2002), a send-up of vapid "veejays," starring Ali MacLean, Coolio, Chris Hardwick, and John Doe; a pair of unscripted first-person short films Remedy (2009) and I Saw a Movie (2009); and the horror-thriller Clown (2005), starring Mike McColl and shot by Eric Steelberg, which earned The Method Fest's Excellence in Filmmaking Award, and was named one of Film Threat Magazine's Top 10 Short Films of the Year.From 1999 to 2003, he worked for Los Angeles-based production and distribution company The Asylum as an acquisition executive, trailer editor, and post-production consultant on films such as Route vers l'enfer (2003) and Scarecrow - L'épouvantail (2002). On the Stuart Gordon film King of the Ants (2003), he served as 1st assistant editor and post-production supervisor.
