Karen Sunde

Karen Sunde

actress, writer, executive

Karen Sunde was born on Jul 18, 1942 in USA. Karen Sunde's big-screen debut came with Mayflower: The Pilgrims' Adventure directed by George Schaefer in 1979.

I started as an actor, and began to write after playing many leading roles Off-Broadway and becoming Associate Director of CSC Repertory in New York. My plays have been performed Off-Broadway, in regional theaters, on a USA tour, and in eleven countries in seven languages. A dozen are published; sixteen more are online. Actors Theatre of Louisville, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Peoples Light & Theatre, The Acting Company and Cheltenham Center commissioned and produced plays from me. Abbey National Theatre, Ireland; Ankara State Theatre, Turkey; Aalborg State Theatre, Denmark; and City Theatre, Finland, produced my plays and musical. Like any actor, I love telling stories that bridge divides - between the sexes, cultures, countries, past and present worlds.
