Writer of humorous short stories and film scripts. Left Czechoslovakia after the Russian invasion in 1968 and went to live in Switzerland, where he died in 1984. His best known collection of short stories is Gypsova Dama (The Plaster Lady, 1967). His short stories Rodny Kraj (Native Region) was published in Cologne in 1977.
