In 1950, he came to Istanbul and met Kemal Gürses at a meeting. He was invited to Istanbul Radio after the work titled "Pozanti irmagi mite gray blur", which he read in the presence of Münir Nurettin Selçuk, Sadi Yaver Ataman and Kemal Gürses at the Istanbul Conservatory, and received great appreciation by reading the same work on the radio for the first time. He said that he changed his surname from Çulha to Tarsus upon the recommendation of the late dubbing director Ferdi Tayfur and he was honored to bear this surname. Along with his music life, Kaplan Tarsuslu, who also worked as a movie actor and producer, founded the company "Kaplan Film" in his name and made more than 50 films. In 1955, he made his first film called "They Shoot Me in the Dawn". He has both sung and acted in most of his films. He made the soundtracks for many movies They played with Muhterem NUR and Rahmi Kafadar in the movie "Kocatepe'nin 3 Suvarisi", written by him. This movie was later turned into a book. In "Osman Cavus", "Bereketli Topraklar Uzerinde", "Kanal" with Tarik Akan; They played with Esref Kolçak in the movie "Kardes Kursunu". He died on 3 June 2002 in his home in Maltepe Gülsuyu Mahallesi, unable to get rid of the asthma disease he was suffering from. His grave is in Istanbul.
