Karl-Axel "Kalle" Boman, born April 5, 1943, in Stockholm, Sweden, is a producer and professor of Independent Filmmaking. He is the guru and rebel of Swedish Film, with a unique and continuously involvement in all types of cinematic productions. Kalle Boman's first date with the movies was as an extra in Ingmar Bergman's "Fängelse (Prison)" (1949). In 1964 he was hired by Europa Film as a stagehand, mainly for Bo Widerberg's production "Kärlek 65" (1965). Widerberg discovered the many talents of Kalle Boman and promoted him to assistant director. Kalle stayed with Widerberg for a couple of films, including the world famous "Elvira Madigan" (1967). A few years later he teamed up with director Roy Andersson for the production of "En kärlekshistoria" (1970). He was awarded the Honorary Guldbagge Award 2014. Kalle Boman has acted as producer in a large number of feature films and shorts, besides his work as creative advisor and all sorts of role in the craft of filmmaking.
