At 15, her dream began, when the talented Latina singer graced the national television airwaves in 1995. She appeared on the famed Star Search series, winning in the female vocalist category for 11 consecutive weeks. Joy then went on to sign with Babyface and LA Reid at LaFace/Arista Records. The excitement intensified in 1997 when she lent background vocals to the single "When you Believe" the historic pairing of Whitney Houston & Mariah Carey, for the _Prince of Egypt(1997)_motion picture soundtrack.
