Jonathan attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and received his BFA in Acting. This conservatory arts training school consistently ranks among the top in the nation. Upon graduation he moved to NYC where he lived for about three years. There he began Incite Productions, along with other fellow UNCSA alumni, an Off-Off Broadway Theatre Company, which received critical acclaim for its powerful and touching work by the New York Times. Jonathan then moved to Wilmington, NC for two years and beefed up his resume in film, TV, commercials, and theatre and played with his dog, Chloe, on the beach. The two of them then did a four year stint in Los Angeles where Jonathan continued to work consistently in commercials, TV, and film. After nearly five dozen commercials, industrials, voice-overs, films, etc., Jonathan began focusing more completely on his development work for professional theater. He was the Director of Development for the State Theater of North Carolina and then Assistant Director of Development for the Tony award-winning American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. Jonathan now resides in Atlanta, GA and is the Director of Development for the College of Arts and Sciences at Emory University, a top 20 nationally-ranked university.
