Moxey knew from childhood that he was cut out for a job in the picture business and, following his discharge from the service after World War II, the battle-fatigued veteran got his start in the editing room. His first directing job was for British TV, followed by low-budget features in England, UK and scores of TV assignments in the U.S. He began using his middle name (Llewellyn) at the suggestion of a numerologist.
