John is the director of horror short films 'Exposure' & '6 Feet Under' and the award winning Sci-Fi short films " The Way Back" and "ECHOES". The Way back won the best film award at The Golden Blasters Sci Fi Festival in 2016 and appeared on Sky Televisions Short Film Show. ECHOES won 4 awards internationally including the Cult Critic Movie Awards Best Director and Best Film at the Dublin Sci-Fi Film Festival. John has been working as a director and editor in the television industry for 20 years and directed the IFTA Nominated Irish language drama series Seacht for BBC and TG4. He also wrote and directed 12 episodes of the factual drama series Marú for TG4.In 2015 he filmed, edited and directed the RTS nominated factual documentary series Ireland's Great War for BBC and RTE. Over his career he produced work for BBC (Digging for Britain, Timewatch), Channel 4 (Celebrity Snoop Dogs) , YouTube (James May's Headsqueeze), RTE (How Low Can You Go) and Netflix (Flinch 2019). In 2018 he also directed and edited Celebs in Solitary for Channel 5.John is the managing director of causeAscene films, Belfast, established in 2014. In 2022 it's 5th short film production "The Silence Between" is due to be released, directed by John, produced by Lisa Service and written by Paul Skillen.
