He was arrested for murder in 1967 and sentenced to life imprisonment, and became the country's most notorious prisoner. Paroled in 1982 from prison, he turned his life around amazingly. He is now a wine-connoiseur and writer, living part-time in France. He also makes large contributions to the British Labour Party.
