Jimmy was born November 19, 1946 in Tennessee, USA. He is best known for Actors Anonymous, One Last Dance, The Suitcase, Song From a Blackbird, and Temps de Paix. He relocated back and forth to Cleveland, Ohio beginning in 1955, which eventually became his permanent home in 1960 with his mother Mattie who retired as a pediatric nurse. His dad Freddie was a railroad train waiter who retired as a truck driver with a major meat packing company. Jimmy's acting connection revealed itself at 8 years old. When alone in the forest he would act out scenes between his separated siblings and himself mimicking what he had seen on television. His career began on stage in 1966 first directed by Dorothy Silver at the famous Karamu House. He got the first role he auditioned for after a rainy day slip injury on the baseball mound that ended his hopes of becoming a professional baseball pitcher. His first acting audition was on a dare from his wife Nancy; that if she auditioned would he audition, and he got the role. He was the first Afro-American enrolled at Cleveland State University in 1965. He was trained by The WGA, West to write screenplays for 2 years in 1974 after being chosen as a top 40 contestant, which lead to 2 additional years. Jimmy trained as an actor for many years. Studied Voice over, and vocal. He is a recorded singer. His hobbies are guitar and flute.
