Jeffrey Solomon's original teleplay for "CityKids" (ABC/Jim Henson Productions) received an Emmy Nomination for Best Children's Special as well as winning an Ollie Award for excellence in Children's Programming. It was picked up as a series by ABC, and Jeff was a staff writer on the show. His episode "The Mural" received a Golden Rose Award for Human Values. He penned a CityKids novelization for young adults published by Random House. Jeff was a staff writer on Davis Rules (Carsey-Werner/ABC-TV) and has also written for Tribeca on Tri-Star/FOX (executive producers Robert Dinero and Jane Rosenthal) and Gullah Gullah Island (Nickelodeon.) His solo plays "MotherSON" and "Santa Claus is Coming Out" have appeared Off Broadway (Kirk Playhouse, Theatre Row), On London's West End (New End Theatre, Oval House Theatre), and Melbourne, Australia (Theatre Works). Jeff is a competitive storytelling champion with the live storytelling organization The Moth, and has performed in Moth shows in New York, Michigan, and Edinburgh, UK. His story was featured nationally on NPR's Moth Radio Hour. In 2001, Jeff co-founded the New York City based Houses on the Moon Theater Company, and has served as its co-Artistic Director for the past thirteen years. Houses tours his original plays internationally including "Tara's Crossing," (Tenement Theatre in New York) and "De Novo," (America's Off Broadway Festival at 59 E 59 St. Theaters, Palacio Tecleño, El Salvador).
