Ivy Joeva
Ivy Joeva was born on Aug 13, 1981 in USA. Ivy Joeva's big-screen debut came with Driller directed by Jason Kartalian in 2006.
Ivy's roots as a performer trace back to her teenage years as an ice dancer. While continuing to skate competitively, she landed a job as an anchor / reporter for Channel One, an international newscast shown in over 12, 000 schools in the U.S. The station sent her to Belfast, to cover Northern Ireland's historic Peace Accords in 2000.After sustaining an ankle injury that required surgery, she left the ice to pursue college at UC Berkeley. She completed her degree with a double major in Dramatic Art and Psychoneuroimmunology, a fancy term for the field of mind-body medicine. Back in Los Angeles, Ivy began teaching yoga, Pilates, and Nia (Neuro-muscular Integrative Action), a form of movement that combines elements from dance, martial arts, and healing arts. She also became a state certified Massage Therapist and continued exploring the mind-body connection with her clients in both Los Angeles and New York.In 2007, she met producers Chris Brickler and Michael Romero, the creators of Song of Songs, an Emmy-nominated documentary about love and relationships. The three of them set out on a national college tour to explore how young people today feel about these topics, and as chief correspondent, Ivy interviewed students from all walks of life. Current TV commissioned episodes which include discussions on the future of monogamy, the "hook-up" culture, and how communications technology affects relationships.Ivy was drawn to the birth world when a number of her friends began having children. Their excitement, their fears, their questions, and their desires compelled her to learn more about the process of preparing for birth physically, emotionally, and psychologically. She received her Birth Doula training from the renown Chapman Family center, and became certified through DONA International.Ivy is passionate about sharing the advances of modern medicine alongside thoroughly researched holistic principles. As a reporter and TV host, her aim is to raise awareness around issues surrounding women's health and alternative medicine, as well as to illuminate a broader range of options for what's possible in childbirth.
