Ivan Kusan
Ivan Kusan was born on Aug 30, 1933 in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ivan Kusan's big-screen debut came with The Secret Life of Nikola Tesla directed by Krsto Papic in 1980. Ivan Kusan is known for Charuga directed by Rajko Grlic, Ivo Gregurevic stars as Caruga and Davor Janjic as Mali. Ivan Kusan was born in a family of Jaksa Kusan, respected bookstore owner with many friends and contact among the creme of Sarajevo intelligentsia. In 1939 the family settled in Zagreb where Ivan, at the age of 10, wrote his first novel. His writing talent coincided with the talent for visual arts as well as his leaning towards world travel. All those tendencies would make him very popular and internationally recognized children's book writer with first novel being published in 1956. After that, Kusan worked on the Zagreb radio-station. Between 1980 and his retirement in 1994 he taught Dramaturgy at Zagreb Drama Academy. Ivan Kusan was married twice and has a son, Daniel, from previous marriage.
