Born in Brasília in 1976, studied Anthropology, Journalism, and has a masters' degree in Cinematographic Direction in Madrid, in Spain. As a screenwriter and director he has made 6 short films and two feature films. All of which were awarded prizes and selected in festivals in Brazil and abroad. His first film, The Last Drive-In Theater (O Último Cine Drive-in), was named best Brazilian film of 2015 by the highly regarded newspaper Folha de São Paulo. Amongst others, was awarded as Best Picture at the Punta del Este 18th International Film Festival and in 43º Festival Internacional de Gramado as well as Best Actor, Actress in a supporting role, Art direction and Critic's Choice Award. The movie was also screened in Chicago's and Beijing's film festivals and have a global distribution on Netflix. His second feature, The Friendly Man (O Homem Cordial), was selected to 41 Cairo International Film Festival, 23 Tallinn Black nights Film festival, São Paulo International Film Festival and was awarded with Best Movie award and best actor (Paulo Miklos) at Barcelona Independent Filmaker Award and best actor award at Gramado Film Festival. Ibere's short films were awarded as best film in the 31º Festival del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano de Havana and Cartoon Network's best children short film award at Prix Jeunesse Latin American. Winner of the prize of the best latin-american short in the 30º edition of the International Cinema Festival of Havana, Cuba with the film To Ask for Forgiveness (Para Pedir Perdão), he was also awarded the best prize by Cartoon Network, on the movie for children between 7 and 11 years category, in the Festival Prix Jeunesse Iberoamericano 2011 with the movie Los Dog (Procura-se), Iberê accumulates awards and recognition with his works. His first fiction short movie, Citizen suicide (Suicídio Cidadão) won the award for the Best 16 mm film in the 36º Festival of the Brazilian Cinema of Brasília.
