Heinz Hopf born 1934 in Stockholm, was a Swedish stage and screen actor. With a strong desire to become an actor, he began studying medicine at the Lund University in 1954. The following year he was admitted to the Royal Dramatic Training Academy in Stockholm and in 1958 he became a member of the ensemble at that theatre. Besides acting in some 50 plays at the Royal Dramatic Theatre, he appeared in private theatres for more than 20 years before his stage fright forced him to stop. Heinz Hopf returned to studying medicine but also occasionally participated in a couple of movies. His trademark as an actor was his emotionally charged presence and striking energy. He preferred odd characters and played demon rather than first lover. Heinz Hopf appeared in 85 feature films, TV-movies and shorts. He died of throat cancer 2001.
