Greg Olsen attended Wayne Hills High School in New Jersey. He went on to attend the University of Miami (Fla.) and Majored in criminology. He was a three-year letter winner at the University of Miami (2004-06) starting 26 of 33 games played and totaling 87 receptions for 1,215 yards (14.0-yard average) with six touchdowns. Olsen started 12 games in each of his final two seasons at Miami earning first-team and honorable mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors as a junior and sophomore respectively. Olsen went on to be selected in the first round (31st overall) of the NFL Draft by Chicago (4/28/07). He was traded by Chicago to Carolina in 2011. Olsen currently ranks seventh in NFL history for receiving yards among tight ends and ranks second in career receiving yards among active tight ends. He is sixth all-time in receptions among tight ends in NFL history. In 2016, Olsen became the first tight end in NFL history to record 1,000 receiving yards in three consecutive seasons. He stands as the franchise all-time leading tight end in terms of receiving yards, receptions and 100-yard receiving games and holds the franchise record for most receiving yards in a single season by a tight end (1,104), set in 2015. Olsen also ranks third in franchise history in receiving yards and receptions, regardless of position.
