Born and raised in Trieste, Italy. He graduated from the University of Trieste in Political Science. He has played professional basketball in Italy for many years, and also later became a skydiver. He went to the United States in 1996 to skydive in Florida and while there decided to attend film school to learn as much as he could from the technical side of filmmaking. He began classes at Full Sail in Orlando, Florida in 1999 and has since concentrated on cinematography. In late 2001 he moved to New York.
