Donald Gale Thompson graduated from Logan High School, La Crosse, Wisconsin, in 1958. After a short interval (roughly 30 days) in boot camp at MCRTD, San Diego, he was physically discharged from the Marine Corps Reserve before the end of summer of 1958. He worked as a commercial and illustration artist for several graphics companies in the Coulee Region and for WEAU-TV (Eau Claire) in 1968.He was active in Logan dramatics and in local Community Theater projects.In Los Angeles, due to a Screen Actor's Guild conflict, his early acting work was done as "Galen Thompson".He is survived by two sisters and a brother.He will be interred at Oak Grove Cemetery in La Crosse. A brief memorial service will be held, scheduled now for 12/27/2011.
