Born in Argentina to a German father and Andalusian mother, at age 4 she embarked with his family on a journey through Europe and they were surprised by the First World War as they rode through Germany, where the father died. She arrived in Spain for the first time in 1919, shortly after going back to Argentina. Back to Spanish soil, her camera debut took place at age 15 in the film "Corazón, o La vida de una modista (Heart, the life of a fashion designer)". Thus one of the most important figures of the silent phase of Spanish cinema and one of the first vamps was born. After the advent of sound she reduced film appearances and emigrated to Mexico.
