She was born on July 14th, 1966 in Istanbul, Turkey, as the second child of an engineer father (from Yugoslavia) and an artist mother (from Circassia), sister of an artist, granddaughter of a poet. After graduation from Galatasaray High School, which is one of the most renowned and influential high schools of modern Turkey, she moved to Los Angeles to attend Parsons School of Design where she studied interior design. She started working as an interior designer when she was still very young. During a trip, she met her future husband and moved to Mexico to be with him. After three years in Mexico, she woke up one morning and realized that was not she wants to do, she had to return to Los Angeles and start a career in acting, and that's precisely what she did. She trained under and befriended acting coach Charlie Laughton in the Actor's Studio. She joined a theater group to stage European plays and had a successful stage career. She preferred work in independent films and kept away herself from Hollywood. In 2002, after both of her parents death, somehow she couldn't leave Turkey and twenty years after living different countries, she decided to stay. She continues to live and work in Istanbul, Turkey.
