Erick Peterson was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and grew up in Nairobi, Kenya. He attended high school in the Washington, D.C. area and college in New Hampshire. Following graduation from college, he worked at the U.S. Senate and later on Wall Street. In late 2005, he embraced the "life is short" paradigm and left behind his career-track to pursue his long-held interest in acting and writing. He has begun by acting in student/indy films and staging his plays in independent theatre in New York. In Spring, 2006, Erick auditioned for legendary acting instructor Wynn Handman and was accepted by him to train as one of his students at Carnegie Hall, New York. Wynn Handman has trained among other talented actors, Alec Baldwin, James Caan, Chris Cooper, Michael Douglas, Richard Gere, Christopher Walken, and Denzel Washington.
