Erazm Karamyan was born on Mar 15, 1912 in France. Erazm Karamyan's big-screen debut came with Nasreddin v Hodjente, ili Ocharovannyi prints directed by Amo Bek-Nazaryan in 1959.

Since 1930 he worked in the theatres of Western Siberia, later in Moscow. He graduated from the Kharkov Theatre Institute in 1936. From 1937 he worked as assistant director, later as film director at Armenfilm Studio. He became famous after the trilogy about Armenian Bolshevik revolutionary Kamo.
