Emily Dugan was born and raised in Austin, Texas and is a working freelance Production Assistant as well as a promotion's assistant for IHeartRadio. She first gained interest in film back in 2009 when she would re-create music videos with her two younger sisters. This lasted up until high school started in 2010 where she furthered her interest in the performing arts by being apart of musical theater and taking theater classes as well throughout her high school career.After graduating high school in 2014 under the Visual and Performing Arts Academy Emily went on to college and then in the summer of 2015 she heard from former classmates that an indie project was being filmed at her old high school. After being cast as a Featured Extra in the indie movie, "Slash" she came across Facebook groups for film where she found her first unpaid gig as a Production Assistant on a music video for a local Austin band. She then took a year and a half off until finally in July of 2017 after miserably working at dead end jobs she went back to school where she is a current RTF Major and has since worked on numerous paid projects as a Production Assistant and unpaid work moving up to Script Supervisor, and eventually to 1st Assistant Director and Producer on her most recent projects. Emily, now married as Emily Schmitt, continues to work in production, getting in her PA days to eventually unionize with the DGA.
