Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Edward Kishel studied psychology as an undergrad, but found it unfulfilling and dull. Low on tuition, he joined the U.S. Army in 1995, and spending 3 years as an artillery crewman. After an honorable discharge, Edward went back to school, finishing his degree in psychology, but this time adding a minor in film studies. This led to a graduate film program, where he wrote, produced, and directed close to a dozen short films.
