Dennis Knickel is born as the youngest of four children in Mainz (Germany) on Octobre 27th in 1983. He grows up in the small town Alzey and goes to high school there. At the age of eleven, he founds a school magazine, as the already existing school magazine contains too much advertising. At the age of 16, he changes his lifestyle and becomes a vegan. In 2001, he becomes a PADI Divemaster. Since then, he sometimes works on Majorca in a diving school. In 2003, he passes the final examination (Abitur) and says goodbye with a "scandal speech". In the same year, he has to do his ten month social service as a "urine waiter" in a psychiatry. At the age of 20, his experiences during a three month journey to Hawaii causes him to write a book about it: "Kaffee, Kiffer, Killerkatzen" ("Coffee, Potheads, Zombie Cats"). In January 2005, he finally writes the screenplay to his first movie "Die Treppe" ("Stairway to Heaven"). This is also the birth of the Tupamaros Film Productions. On March 15th 2007, the German major label e-m-s publishes the very first movie of the Tupamaros: The DVD of "Die Treppe" is now available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In September 2006 starts the shooting of "Die Füchsin" ("Celine Dances Today"). The post production gets interrupted for two month as Knickel is backpacking through Cuba. In Cuba, Dennis writes his second book about traveling: "Anarchistenherz" ("The Heart of the Anarchist"). "Die Füchsin" is getting published as a digital download DVD in 2012. In 2009, Knickel starts with his third film project "Erinnerungen" ("Memories"). Before the work on "Erinnerungen" is completed in February 2011, the post production pauses as Dennis Knickel writes another book about traveling. This time, he writes about his two month in Thailand: "Curry-Competition", which is Knickel's first book release in March 2011.
