David Malyan was born on Apr 17, 1904 in Azerbaijan]. David Malyan's big-screen debut came with Shorn u Shorshore directed by Amo Bek-Nazaryan in 1927, strarring Devil.

David Malyan studied in Armenian Drama studio in Tbilisi in 1922-1923. He worked in the theatres in Yerevan, Tbilisi, Leninakan (now Gyumri). From 1932 he was one of the leading actors of the Sundukyan Drama Theatre of Yerevan.
