David Krae was born on Nov 22, 1975 in Canada. David Krae's big-screen debut came with This Beautiful City directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly in 2007.

A prolific writer, script doctor, known as an actor's director (and sometimes actor), David is passionate about character, performance and visual creativity in the motion picture arts, while bringing technical production expertise to the filmmaking process.David Krae started off in college theater, first at King's College, Halifax, and then Trinity College, University of Toronto. While acting, directing and producing stage plays, as a member of the Dramatic Society he founded the Trinity College Workshop Plays program, to feature and promote student-written plays.In between classes, on breaks and during summer, he also worked on commercials, independent films, as well as studio features such as Good Will Hunting and The Big Hit, in various roles, learning film production from the ground up. After completing his studies, he spent some time working overseas as a government contractor, sojourns in academia and the advertising business, but returned to his true passion of the Arts, full-time.After a number of years working as an actor in Toronto, and developing various projects as a writer, he founded the production company Aquila Pictures, and began directing and producing independent films. Krae built a solid reputation in the Toronto film industry and a trusted relationship with ACTRA and its Toronto Independent Productions program, requested by ACTRA as a Supervising Producer, representing the CMPA (Canadian Media Producer's Association, formerly CFTPA) on a number of projects.Over the years, David continued to develop as a writer and producer under the mentorship of Leonard B. Kaufman, as a director and playwright under Robin Phillips, and as an actor, in scene study at the Carter Thor Studio.As a writer, and filmmaker, he has won various awards, including the Golden Palm Award for Best Script at the Beverly Hills Film Festival (2007) for 'Lucretia' a period drama about the Borgias, and numerous Best Feature awards, at film festivals across North America, for the action-comedy Gangster Exchange.In more recent years, David has worked in film and television, development as well as motion picture distribution, dividing most of his time between Toronto, Los Angeles. He also secretly doctors scripts and fixes editing problems.
