Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni, a native New Yorker, is an award-winning actress and multimedia artist with a devoted international fan following.Born into a family of Opera professionals, she began performing in her father's Opera company at the tender age of three. As a young child, she moved to Rome, Italy, where she spent her formative years. She returned to the USA upon being honored with a scholarship offered to her by The Second City's famous Training Center for Improvisation in Chicago, IL, breeding ground for many of today's premiere comic talent (Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Mike Myers).Cataldi-Tassoni is best known for her film work (Opera. Mother of Tears, The Dirt, Phantom of the Opera) with renowned European directors such as legendary filmmakers Dario Argento, Pupi Avati and Lamberto BavaIn 2011, Coralina starred in Baggage Claim, directed by Golden Globe winner Irene Miracle (Midnight Express). This prestigious publication has been recently added to the research department at the New York Public Library for The Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.Coralina shares "Story by" credit with award winning director Mariano Baino, on stereoscopic movie Hidden 3D. The movie is an English language, Canadian/Italian co-production, which counts among its producers Oscar winner Don Carmody.Astrid's Saints, LLC is the production company she co-owns with director Mariano Baino. The two artists have come together on numerous occasions to produce their own projects. Amongst the list of creative endeavors is the feature film Astrid's Saints, which she co-wrote and is producing with director Mariano Baino alongside Gaetano di Vaio, Bronx Film (Gomorrah, The Series-Per Amor Vostro) in collaboration with Dario Formisano, Eskimo SRL (Per Amore Vostro, Neve).In September 2016, Coralina won an Award of Excellence the category of Actress: Leading at the Best Shorts Competition for her courageous and emotionally wrenching performance in Lady M 5.1. A short film where she plays Lady Macbeth in the screen adaptation of Macbeth's Act 5 Scene 1, by the great William Shakespeare. The film is directed by the award winning director Mariano Baino. She also expressly created for the short, the original soundtrack and designed the costumes along with joining Baino in production design.The short film, has had the honor to be screened in numerous prestigious venues such as Mana Contemporary, The Anthology Film Archives in NYC, and on October 31st 2017, had its European Premier at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome (Macro).On June 17, 2019 A Moving Read, the Sci-Fi/Fantasy short film starring Cataldi-Tassoni, filmed in Naples, Italy and directed by Mariano Baino, had its world premiere at the Fantafestival in Rome. Baino and Cataldi-Tassoni also created the short film/promo announcing the Festival.During the event Cataldi-Tassoni and Baino were individually honored with Fantafestival's "Career Achievement Award".Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni resides in New York City.
