Cora Sue Collins was born on April 19, 1927, in Beckley, West Virginia. She was a beautiful child actress who was very much in demand during the 1930s. She appeared in her first film, The Strange Case of Clara Deane (1932), at age five. She appeared in small roles throughout the early part of the decade. One of her roles that stand out was as the illegitimate daughter of Colleen Moore in The Scarlet Letter (1934). She performed well, particularly considering that she is picked on in the film by the many children in the village where she lives. Cora remained active in films until she played Elinor Randall in Roughly Speaking (1945). She retired from movies at the ripe old age of 18.
