He had his own group in radio and television in North Carolina and Georgia, and in films. He also worked as a disk jockey on an Augusta, Georgia radio station. Joining ASCAP in 1951, his other song compositions include "Look In the Looking Glass", "Journey's End", "Days Are Long, Nights Are Lonely", "Juke Box Gal" and "Savannah River Rag".
