Chantal Herman is a South African actress. Born and raised in Cape Town (by her primary school teacher mother, Sybil and IT Manager father, Anthony), she attended the Waterfront Theatre School getting her Performer's Diploma, Trinity College and Associate Teacher's Diplomas in National, Tap, Ballet and Modern Dance. She also headed the Lighting and Sound Dept for a year.Chantal has made numerous appearances on South African television - on soaps like Isidingo and Generations as well as Shado's, Molo Fish II, Jozi Streets; Saints, Sinners and Settlers; Meeulanders; and Those who Can't.She has directed two television pilots, as well as a family drama called "Christmas in the City" for SABC television. She was creative director on the popular kids show, Thabang Thabong (and sang the title and many other songs for the show), and wrote for Bookstars - a kids educational series.Her theatre credits include Mimi Marquez in RENT, directed by Anthony Rapp, and supporting roles in Thoroughly Modern Millie, We will Rock You, The Wizard of Oz, Evita, Noah of Cape Town, Guga MZimba and Little Shop of Horrors.Chantal works in Johannesburg as a character actor and voice artiste.She has one sister.
