Carl Hiaasen

Carl Hiaasen was born on Mar 12, 1953 in USA. Carl Hiaasen's big-screen debut came with Striptease directed by Andrew Bergman in 1996.

Carl Hiaasen graduated from the University of Florida's School of Journalism in 1974. He has written many books, including "Tourist Season", "Double Whammy" and "Striptease", all crime/mystery books that take place in south Florida. In between writing books, Hiaasen writes a regular column for the Miami Herald. He's also a big fan of Warren Zevon.He sang backup on a Jimmy Buffett song, "The Ballad of Skip Wiley", which is based on Hiassen's book "Tourist Season". He recently wrote his first book for young adults, "Hoot".
