Bob Tourangeau was born as Robert Francis Tourangeau, Jr. to Alice Mary (Rochefort) and Robert Francis Tourangeau. He was raised in Naugatuck, Connecticut with his sisters Jean and Judy. Both parents were mill workers for Uniroyal Footwear. Bob's father played guitar and performed magic for parties as "Bob Francis". Bob's mother was known to play spoons and clogged as a young woman. Bob attended Cross Street Elementary School and Hillside Junior High School. He graduated from Naugatuck High School with the class of 1972. Bob went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design from the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he met his future wife of 39 years, Joanne Marie (Kosotsky). Shy, and suffering from stage fright, Bob never appeared on stage until 1980, at the age of 26, when he was coerced into two small speaking roles in a community theater production of "The Wind in the Willows" while living in East Lempster, New Hampshire. Finding that he loved performing, Bob appeared in two more small productions until 1982 when he started to work nights for the USPS at a distribution facility in White River Junction, Vermont. Bob returned to the stage in 1989, performing in "The Pajama Game", which was produced by Off Broad Street Players, a community theater group in Claremont, New Hampshire. Since then, Bob has appeared in regularly larger parts in over 50 productions with community theaters in Claremont and Lebanon, New Hampshire and Springfield and Windsor, Vermont. A baritone and low tenor, Bob has also been invited to sing in concert performances. After retiring from the USPS in 2012, and with the death of his wife in 2016, Bob decided to combine his passion for acting and films. He had been a background actor in a few feature films while still working for the USPS. Bob has been studying method acting with writer, director, and "Days of Our Lives" veteran actor Steve Blackwood, and with director, producer, actor, writer and musician, Dennis Collins Johnson. As of 2019, Bob has been in a few short and feature length films, TV shows, and commercials, and has produced others' projects.
