He served as the executive director for Raymond Wong Pak-Ming's "Goodbye Darling" in 1987 and then returned to ATV as producer and director. In 1990, he directed "A Moment of Romance". After fulfilling his contractual obligation with ATV, he concentrated in his film career. His most acclaimed film till now is "Big Bullet", which won him a nomination of Best Director in the 16th Hong Kong Film Awards.
