Ben Ciaramello was born in Providence, Rhode Island and raised in the old neighborhood of Ward 7 to a family of classic Italian culture. His professional acting career began in 2003 when he was cast as the lead in Irvine Welsh's "Ecstasy", the follow up work to Welsh's earlier "Trainspotting." The play was directed by the acclaimed European filmmaker and actor Pedro Varela, a close friend of Welsh who directed the original "Trainspotting" play in Europe. He was next cast in the Blockbuster remake of "War of Worlds" directed by Steven Spielberg in a small one line part that led him into succession of parts to follow including a series regular role opposite Isabella Rosellini in the pilot "Filthy Gorgeous", films "Saint Francis" opposite Dita Von Teese, "The Gaurdian" staring Kevin Costner and the cult classic "The Boys and Girls Guide to getting down." He became most known to audiences in his next role, cast as the brooding and troubled delinquent Santiago Herrera on NBC's Emmy Award winning Friday Night Lights. The actor was quickly offered a handful of Prime Time shows after its release as well as a contract hold deal with ABC including two series regular castings in the Hamlet adaptation "The Prince of Motor City" opposite Piper Perabo, Aiden Quinn and Andy Mcdowell as well as "See Kate Run" opposite Amy Smart. He has since guest stared on many network television shows including "Secrets and Lies" opposite Ryan Philippe and Juliette Lewis, and feature films "Mosquito" opposite Shawn Hatosy and the Warner Brothers film "Live by Night" opposite Ben Affleck and Chris Messina.
