Ben began writing stories in kindergarten. His first was a tragic alien romance that served as a creation myth for the sun and the moon. He grew up in Southeast Asia, spending grade school in Taipei, Jakarta and Bangkok. In college, he produced, co-directed and starred in Killer Toaster from Hell, a feature-length script that he wrote in three days on a dare. He moved to Brooklyn in 2006. One night he met a hilarious little weirdo named Lizzie Minges and in 2016 they were married. He began directing short films in 2018. Misguided, his first film, received an an award from horror icon Joe Bob Briggs. Bells, his second film, premiered in New York City alongside actress Heather Langenkamp's directorial debut and was admitted into the 50th Nashville Film Festival.
