A graduate of the prestigious American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles, Bandar received his MFA in Directing (class of 2010). He recently completed post-production on his feature film, Prophet of Palestine, a documentary about his traumatic past and how it led to him discovering God and becoming the voice of gun reform in Hollywood, shortly after the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the film production set of Rust at the hands of Alec Baldwin.His first feature film, Peace after Marriage, starred Hiam Abbass, and has screened at over 50 international film festivals, and was winner of the "Creative Promise Award" at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival. His feature film script, A Brotherhood, has attached three high profile Hollywood producers, including two-time Academy-Award nominee Hany Abu Assad.Other film credits include the 2007 award- winning short film "Broadway Bound" which was winner of the Grand Merrier Fellowship at the New York Film Festival. He was recipient of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences prestigious TV Directing fellowship in 2009 where he worked on the FOX television series, Brothers, for one season.As a playwright, his stage-play "Side by Side" premiered off-off-Broadway at the American Theater of Actors in New York City. He is a member of the prestigious Actors Studio in New York City. As an actor, he has acted off-Broadway at the Flea Theater in the award- winning stage-play "Back of the Throat" directed by Jim Simpson.
