Actor/writer who starred in his first film role as a soldier in 'over the Top' which he also directed from his best-selling book, about his own experiences as an American soldier in the British Army during World War 1. made at Vitagraph Film Company. From 1919 he appeared in few drama films until his last screen appearance in 1921's 'Millionaire For a Day'. Died in 1963 age 80 in an army veterans hospital in Kansas leaving his medals to the men in the ward.
