Anomie Belle

Anomie Belle was born on Aug 07, 1980 in USA. Anomie Belle's big-screen debut came with Foxfire directed by Annette Haywood-Carter in 1996. Originally a classical violinist from Portland, Oregon, Anomie is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter, producer, and activist living in Seattle. Anomie began writing and recording music as a child, and has since developed an eclectic musical style that incorporates aspects of electronic, classical, art pop, trip hop, glitch, and soul. Also an active film composer, Belle has scored award-winning films that have screened at the Seattle International Film Festival, Bumbershoot, the Northwest Film Forum, and Toronto Hot Docs.Since the debut release, "Sleeping Patterns", Anomie Belle has toured with Bonobo, Tricky, The Album Leaf, Little Dragon, (Gustavo Santaolalla's) Bajofondo, and others. Anomie has released several studio albums and art projects, and collaborated with transgender choreographer, Sean Dorsey, Yppah, Mr Lif, The Yes Men, The Sneaker Pimps, and Trespassers William. Anomie's music often tackles critiques of power, capitalism, and the "beautiful alienation" created by the isolation and passive guilt of unsustainable lifestyles that are destructive to human well-being and the natural environment.
