Andres Beltran is a Colombian writer and director. His debut feature film 'Malos Dias' (Bad Days) was premiered in the official selection of the Warsaw International Film Festival, Poland, in 2015. His second feature film, a horror movie entitled 'Llanto Maldito' (Tarumama), received a special mention for his script at the Sitges Pitchbox 2018. This movie also received the Chemistry Award and the Méliès International Festivals Federation Award for Best Ibero-American Film at Ventana Sur's Blood Window 'Works in Progress' 2020. The film is also part of the Official Section of the Sitges International Film Festival 2021 and was acquired by HBO Max, who released it in 2021. His short film 'Vanity Mirror' premiered in the Brigadoon section of Sitges 2021. Furthermore, Andres has directed several TV Series including 'La ley Secreta' (Undercover Law), a Caracol and Netflix co-production that was nominated for Best Series at the Produ Awards. 'Bolívar', with which he obtained the nomination for best director at the Seoul International Drama Awards, and was the winner of the Golden Bird Prize for Best Serial Drama in 2020. With this production he also received the Best Director Award at the India Catalina Awards of Colombia. Also 'Distrito Salvaje' (Wild District), the first Netflix Original series in Colombia, which was nominated for Best Series at the Platino Awards. In 2021, Andres directed and co-created 'MalaYerba', the first Original StarzPlay series produced in Colombia by Dynamo, Pantaya and Sony. His latest credits include 'Ritmo Salvaje', a Netflix original series, and 'Primate', an Amazon series.
