André Cailloux

André Cailloux was born on May 30, 1920 in France. André Cailloux's big-screen debut came with Kamouraska directed by Claude Jutra in 1973, strarring Ernest. Andre Cailloux immigrated to Canada in 1952 and was immediately drawn into the newborn television scene in Quebec. He created many series for children in television and played many characters into these series. His best known character was Grand-Père Cailloux, an old storyteller who enlighted the imagination of generations of children. His brother Michel created "Bobino", a TV series for children which ran on CBC French network for more than twenty-five years.
