Andre Cailloux immigrated to Canada in 1952 and was immediately drawn into the newborn television scene in Quebec. He created many series for children in television and played many characters into these series. His best known character was Grand-Père Cailloux, an old storyteller who enlighted the imagination of generations of children. His brother Michel created "Bobino", a TV series for children which ran on CBC French network for more than twenty-five years.
