His mother died when he was only five years old, but thanks to his grandmother who brought him up, Andras Demeter has a really unique life and career. He graduated from the Targu-Mures University of Theatre in 1992 as a Hungarian actor, later completed his studies with a master's degree in the management of cultural enterprises from Ecumest, Dijon, France. At the age of 24 he was appointed Director General of the Hungarian State Theatre in Timisoara (Romania), becoming the youngest Manager Director of a public theatrical institution in European culture history, and the first in Romania to be appointed based on a selection of management projects. From 1993 to 2005, he turned a minority institution on the brink of closing into an internationally renowned theatre. He was even the founder and director of the 'Comedians' Feast'
