Amir Jamal Williams was born in Harlem, New York City, U.S.A. to Allison Williams, a Broadway dancer, singer, and actress. He began acting at the age of two, beginning with commercials and print work. At the age of six, he starred on the hit television series "A Different World" as J.T. Rallins. After some work in the theater, he starred in the HBO original movie "Daybreak", starring Cuba Gooding Jr., Moira Kelly, Omar Epps, and Martha Plimpton. At the age of 12, he landed a reoccurring role on the soap opera "All My Children" as Jamal Wilson-Cudahy, where he remained for several years. At the same time, Amir appeared on several more t.v. movies, and twice on the hit show "New York Undercover" as G's best friend, Brian Moore. At 17, he landed the voice of "Mack" on the hit cartoon "Daria". After leaving acting to pursue a writing career and other interests, he resurfaced in 2016, making his directorial debut on the stage in the Diary of a Mother, written by Hope Hollinsworth-Coaxum, where he also had a small role. In 2017, he released his first novel, Flame of Retribution, a work of fiction inspired by the 2006 shooting death of Sean Bell. Amir now resides in Upstate, New York with his wife and two children.
