Born in South Dakota and raised in Minnesota, Amber is an award-winning filmmaker with a performance background. Her work has been featured on Vogue Mexico, Elle Mexico, NYLON Español, and Harper's Bazaar Bulgaria. Clients include The Museum at FIT, Queen of the Night, Ricardo Seco, Alon Livne, Saunder, and Polite. Awards include Best Documentary at the International Fashion Film Awards and Miami Fashion Film Festival. See additional festivals, nominations and awards below.Amber trained in Contemporary Dance at the Academy of Arts, QUT in Brisbane, Australia and later attained a BA Honors in Theatre Dance (Musical Theatre) at London Studio Centre, Middlesex University. While in London she acted in various shorts, pilots and features - constantly getting her hands dirty behind the camera, discovering her passion for producing and directing.Upon moving to New York, Amber founded ALM Talkies production company and produced, directed, wrote and edited the reality thriller Dirty Step Upstage. The film appeared in international film festivals including Cannes Independent Film Festival and Lewiston & Auburn Film Festival, where it was nominated for the People's Choice award. The film won international awards including Best of Show: Feature Film at The Accolade Competition, Silver Palm Award at the Mexico International Film Festival and Best Drama at Amsterdam Film Festival.With husband and creative collaborator Luis Barreto Carrillo, Amber launched Noir Tribe Media, a Brooklyn-based storytelling studio that creates visual content for the fashion industries with a special interest in sustainable and transparent brands. Fashion films and documentaries include Immortal Game, Peyote Dreams, The Polite Woman series, In The Deep, and Ethetics, an ethical fashion documentary series in partnership with the United Nations Ethical Fashion Initiative.
