Amanda Joy was born on Feb 16, 1989 in Canada. Amanda Joy's big-screen debut came with The National Tree directed by Graeme Campbell in 2009.

Amanda Joy was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. She began her career at a young age, print modeling, making appearances in short films and plays, and performing in local and national commercials. At eight, she played the lead in the internationally award-winning short, Little Moments (CBC), and at twelve she entered Toronto's Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts. A gifted student, and a consistent honour roll achiever, she graduated as both an Arts Certificate Holder, and Ontario Scholar.Amanda Joy has studied at various venues including The Armstrong Acting Studio, Stage Door Schools, The Professional Academy of Drama, and Theatre Ontario. She is a private student of Gemini-award-winning actor and coach, Shawn Lawrence.She is a a graduate of Toronto's Ryerson University, where she was a member of the Oakham Campus Theatre, and the recipient of the coveted Dean's Essay Prize.
