Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, son of Italian emigrants established in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Alfredo Le Pera is one of the greatest lyricists of Tango. Some of his biggest lyrics songs are: "Volver", "El dia que me quieras", "Sus ojos se cerraron", "Por una cabeza", "Lejana tierra mia", "Cuesta abajo", "Mi Buenos Aires querido", "Amores de estudiante", between others. All of them were composed with the music of Carlos Gardel and were included in his famous American films in New York. He died in the same plane crash of Carlos Gardel, on 24 June 1935 in Medellin, Colombia.
