Following graduation from high school Winston went on to work as a nursing assistant at a brain trauma center. In 1996 she got an agent so she could pursue a career in modeling and was eventually introduced to legendary erotic photographer Suze Randall. Alexus was the Pet of the Month in the November, 1997 issue of "Penthouse." Winston was a runner-up for Pet of the Year in 2000.
